Lifeline Medical Associates, LLC was formed in 1997 by a group of obstetricians and gynecologists willing to take risk and unite to improve the quality of the medicine in the state of New Jersey.

Lifeline is a fully integrated group of obstetric and gynecologic (“OB/GYN”) practices operating under one tax I.D. number. However, Lifeline consists of multiple “Care Centers,” each of which constitutes a separate office location operated by physician members of Lifeline.

Prior to joining Lifeline, each member was an owner of a medical practice. Upon joining Lifeline, the members' medical practices were merged into Lifeline, and each member became part of a Care Center at the location of their prior medical practice.

Each Care Center is responsible for treating patients at its own office location, and for making most of the day-to-day decisions that directly impact the operation of the Care Center . However, as an affiliate of Lifeline, each Care Center and its respective employees all belong to a single group practice.

Calling the offices “Care Centers” is simply a convenient way to describe the separate office locations that comprise Lifeline. All Care Centers operate under the direct control of Lifeline.
